This gorgeous elopement in the desert of Arizona was inspired by the combination of bohemian style and romantic details By Ashley Rae Photography and Rachel Ellen Events. As featured on Ruffled, this design showcases old world details, tropical florals, and boho textures.

From Rachel Ellen Events: For this shoot I wanted to put a spin on the classic concept of a desert rose – something. For example, something that is unique, rare, tough, enduring, and incredibly beautiful. I love the way this concept mirrors the sentiments in a love-filled marriage. The parallels are beautiful!

The sun gently slips away while radiating it’s golden light across this romantic dessert bridal shoot, beautifully captured by Ashley Rae Photography. Even while in the deserts of Arizona, Rachael Ellen Events incorporated dramatic and textured florals, and a gorgeous wedding gown by Claire Pettibone with a cape covered in floral appliqués. This desert bridal shoot is blooming, and we are soaking in each lovely detail.

The shoot took place in Arizona, where I often see many designs that are more focused on a desert boho look. More often than not, these are very literal interpretations of the landscape. I wanted to create something that felt a little more subtle, romantic, and modern. When paired with the setting it felt fresh and unexpected – like a desert rose. Above all, we wanted to create something beautiful that reflected the couple’s love.

From Rachael Ellen EventsFor this shoot I wanted to put a spin on the classic concept of a desert rose – something that is unique, rare, tough, enduring, and incredibly beautiful. I love the way this concept mirrors the sentiments in a love-filled marriage – the parallels are beautiful! The shoot took place in Arizona, where I often see many designs that are more focused on a desert boho look or very literal interpretations of the landscape. I wanted to create something that felt a little more subtle, romantic, and modern so when paired with the setting it felt fresh and unexpected – like a desert rose.

The bride personalized her look by choosing a gorgeous Claire Pettibone gown and adding a stunning floral embroidered cape to customize her wedding dress. I love the romantic feel of a bridal cape and the way it takes a customize wedding dress to the next couture level. Our groom complemented her style perfectly, donning a classic navy tux with a modern fit. The striking nature of his attire next to the ethereal, romantic beauty of her gown, customized to perfection, created such a beautiful spin on a classic bridal look. Keeping her hair elegantly styled up was a fitting choice for the desert heat, and her glowing bridal makeup added the perfect finishing touch to her customize ensemble.

Our table was also inspired but the blending shades of the desert and the ethereal nature of flowers. Rather than creating structured centerpieces, we opted for a loose, spilled bloom look in an ombre pattern. These blooms were attached to textured gauze fabric that cascaded down the table design. Our other table details were more modern and raw with brushed gold, monochrome plates and candles, and minimal paper details. The look was all about the way that various refined textures can play off each other to create a new desert story.

For the bridal florals, we wanted to create something that tied into the romantic design while also pulling the look back to a warmer climate. Pairing romantic spray roses and garden roses with tropical anthurium and sword fern created another cross combination of styles that so perfectly fit this setting. The invitation suite also pulled elements from the gown and florals using a floral cut out as the main inspiration.

We love this soft and romantic Malibu Wedding Inspiration filled with gorgeous views and elegant details.
