Gorgeous wedding at one of the best wedding venues in phoenix

This gorgeous L’Auberge De Sedona Wedding was sweet and sophisticated. Set in a beautiful creekside of Sedona, Arizona. The setting couldn’t have been more intimate and romantic surrounded by 30 of their close friends and family. Soft baby’s breath detailed flourished the wedding very sweetly. From the bride…

Q1: Tell us about your L’Auberge De Sedona Wedding! What was the inspiration behind your day? Did you have a specific theme, style or color palette? Did you incorporate any cultural or religious traditions in any part of your day?

A1: My husband (love saying that) and I love all things simple, we wanted our day to feel romantic and fuss-free. We went with a non-denominational ceremony and opted not to have a theme for our L’Auberge De Sedona Wedding.

Q2: Let’s talk about wedding decor. How did you decorate your space for the ceremony and the reception at L’Auberge De Sedona? Was any part of the decor DIY?

A2: My husband and I have always loved L’Auberge De Sedona. It is such a stunning venue. We did not want to take away from how beautiful the grounds are, so we kept decor to a minimum! Sedona is beautiful, and we felt too much decor would take away from its natural appeal.

Q3: What were the florals like at your wedding at L’Auberge De Sedona? Did you use flowers in any of your design elements like the bridal bouquets, centerpieces or ceremony backdrop? Did they play an important part in the overall style of your wedding?

A3: I have a slight obsession with Baby’s Breath, It is so airy and romantic! There is also some irony involved with my floral choice, being 12
weeks pregnant at the time of our wedding, I am kind of obsessed with the low key nod to our sweet baby in the form of our floral selection!

Q4: Did you personalize the day in any way (food trucks, guest entertainment, etc.)? What were some of your favorite parts of your wedding?

A4: Elias and I are VERY down to earth, we love spending time with our closest friends and family in our spare time, which is why we chose to have a 28 person L’Auberge De Sedona wedding. The people we surround ourselves with, including ourselves, bond over the love of food! Elias and I spent a lot of time with our menu selection, it was 4 courses and the food was AMAZING! I guess what I’m trying to say is our personalization came in the form of
food!

Q5: Let’s talk about fashion. How did you both choose your L’Auberge De Sedona Wedding day look? Describe the looks in detail.

A5: Being a makeup artist who specializes in bridal makeup, I have seen my fair share of gowns. Over the years, I noticed there were certain bridal clients of mine who had wedding gowns that literally took my breath away…little did I know they were all designed by Monique Lhuillier.
Once I realized the common denominator of my dress obsession I started following the designer on Instagram, mind you, I was not engaged at the time but couldn’t help myself from stalking all of her wedding gowns. Once Elias put a ring on it, I immediately booked an appointment at the
Nordstrom Bridal Boutique so I could try on a few styles from my favorite designer. To my surprise, and what I believe to be fate, Monique Lhuillier was having a trunk show and that is where I fell deeply in love with the Rachelle gown. It was so romantic, the sleeves added a delicate touch, and with how classic the dress is, the plunging neckline gave it a modern feel. I did not want to take the dress off, it made me feel more beautiful than I
have ever felt. The dress was purchased a year before our wedding, so with finding out that we were expecting our first baby only 3 months before our wedding date I did feel a sense of panic. But fortunately, the dress hid my baby bump and no major alterations needed to be made. I am not kidding when I tell you, this dress was destined to be mine for my L’Auberge De Sedona Wedding.

Q6: How did you meet? Tell us about the proposal.

A6: You know how some couples have really romantic tales of their first encounter? Well, …ours wasn’t exactly a story to pass on to our children and grandchildren. We met through mutual friends at a nightclub in Old Town Scottsdale in the spring of 2012, but us some slack, I was only 21
and he was 27 at the time so that’s what people that age do! Fast forward to Super Bowl Sunday of 2018, we had been in a relationship for 6 years
and I had truly convinced myself that we were going to be boyfriend and girlfriend forever, and raise our kids (Baxter our Malti-Poo, and Tito our
Frenchie) without ever getting married. Super Bowl Sunday is my least favorite day of the year, I hate football, and Elias is a die-hard football fanatic so while he watches the game, I typically go shopping because the mall is empty. So when I woke up that Sunday, I didn’t expect anything out of the ordinary. I went to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee, and heard Elias yell from the other room “Babe! Call the dogs, they are driving
me crazy!” So I yell for Baxter and Tito to come into the kitchen with me, and as they run into the kitchen I see signs on their neck saying “Mom,
will you marry our dad?” The first thought in my head, was OH MY GOSH my babies are so cute!! So I sit on the kitchen floor to pet them and then I
realize…WAIT is this real life???!!! Elias came walking around the corner, got down on one knee, and I started to cry so hard I couldn’t breathe. It took me by complete surprise, and he knows how much I love my fur babies so for him to include them in the proposal was magical. I am not a fan of football, but Super Bowl Sunday will always be special to me. Good Job Elias!

Q7: What was the most anticipated or special moment of your L’Auberge De Sedona Wedding day?

A7: I was so overwhelmed with pure happiness, I was pregnant with the love of my life’s baby, and we were finally going to be husband and wife.
The ceremony at L’Auberge De Sedona was so meaningful to me, I cry just thinking out that moment. Standing in front of our closest friends and family, eyes locked with Elias, it was a moment I will never forget. Those vows are the blueprint to our marriage and life, they were the most important part of our day. Of course, we also had one surprise for our guests, our gender reveal! Our family and friends were so excited to find out what we were having, and it was such a special moment of our day!

Q8: Do you have any wedding planning or marriage advice that you’d like to share with other couples planning their day?

A8: Over the course of 10 years, I have seen hundreds of brides on the morning of their wedding day. The bride seems to easily get overwhelmed with too many people in the room while they are trying to get ready. I took a mental note of that and opted to spend the day of my L’Auberge De Sedona Wedding alone while my bridal party and family had their hair and makeup done in a large banquet room. I had the most peaceful day, I slept in, ordered room service, and went for a walk by the creek with my 12 year old French Bulldog Bella, and took my time doing my makeup. My advice to future brides, be a little selfish, take some time for yourself to really enjoy your special day!

Q9: How did you choose your wedding photographer Ashley Rae and what did you love most about working with her and her team?

A9: I have had the pleasure of working with Ashley on a few weddings throughout the years. Her work consistently captures the romance and beauty of a wedding day. So when it came time to select a photographer, Ashley was my top choice. Her passion for what she does is unparalleled and it shows through her work. Right off the bat, Ashley understood the effortless intimate vibe we were going for, which is why I never told Ashley what to do when it came to taking photos. I put my trust in her entirely, because she is the expert and I knew that whatever she wanted us to do, it would photograph beautifully. As an added bonus, her team was a DREAM! Her assistant made sure my gown looked perfect at all times, she would touch up my hair or lipstick when needed, and I can’t get over how helpful she was. Her second shooter was just as professional and wonderful as Ashley, they all worked in synch and the day felt so easy going and relaxed. Thank you so much Ashley, you made our day so special at L’Auberge De Sedona and I still can’t believe we had the honor of having you photograph our day.
